This week was the last week of our personal series. I finally got to a point where I was comfortable with my topic and the path I was going for. For this bunch, I was able to use my body and my poses and then overlay a picture over it to make the image seem as one. The last two pictures were the same as the last bunch, but I took out the ground from both photos. Now both images are more focused on the model and the overlaid image.
For this assignment, we worked more on our series project. This week I used my body and different poses rather than taking a picture of only my face. I tried posing differently and using my whole body. I was then able to find pictures to overlay that worked well together. The second to the last image, looks like I'm standing on top of the map and looking down at it. The last picture, I chose a map that looked like it gave me wings and a halo. I will continue to use different poses and postures that will mesh well with the overlaid image.
This week we had to improve and perfect our series project. Here I focused more on my emotion and made my expression look more calm and natural. I edited the images to make it seem more nastalgic and warm. I mainly used dusk and the black and white effect on picmonkey. Then I overlayed more images ontop of it to make it more intersting. I chose images that show history and found calligraphy to overlay.
This week we are starting our personal series. For my series, I want to focus on self portraits or family portraits and overlay some family history over the image. I want to create a collection of images that are meaningful and interesting to look at. The first and third photo has an image that has family history on it. Throughout the following weeks, I will take more images of my family and find out more about my background through photography.
This week, we were assigned to take images of negative spacing. My goal was to find images or put people in front of a plain background and also creating a shadow behind it. In most of my pictures, my main focus was shadows. I wanted to take an image and edit it to make the viewer focus more on the subject, not the background. The shadows in the pictures make the image seem more interesting. The second, third, and last two images were edited with the cutout filter making it seem more cartoonish and fun.
