This week we are starting our personal series. For my series, I want to focus on self portraits or family portraits and overlay some family history over the image. I want to create a collection of images that are meaningful and interesting to look at. The first and third photo has an image that has family history on it. Throughout the following weeks, I will take more images of my family and find out more about my background through photography.
This collection of yours is very interesting I like it because of the range of emotion you are capable of showing through these photos. I think for the next step you should use panoramic shots of you and nature. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cool idea! I really like the emotion that is evoked through these images. I like the two layers of each image and how it all adds to the idea of family history through portraits. All the images work well together and create a cohesive set. Keep experimenting! Good work this week.
ReplyDeleteCaleigh, this is really cool. I liked the layering and i also liked how you put them in black and white. Good Job!
ReplyDeletecaleigh, i really like what you've done! the idea is very original and is your own story. keep it up!
ReplyDeleteCaleigh,
ReplyDeleteI really like your effects with your set of photos. Making each layer of the photo fade in with one another really makes the photo more interesting to look at. With that effect and the black and white really gives the photos a nostalgic look.
Great set Caleigh! I really love the style you've chosen, overlaying the photos with each other and connecting them. I love how in addition to exploring photography and breaking through your comfort zone, you're also exploring your history and heritage. Your photos really have a feeling of deep meaning to them and they match really well with the overlaying images/chinese characters you paired them up with. I'm excited to see the next set, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeletewow, this is really cool. I really like how you made the self portrait black and white and the maps or writing in color. keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work with this set, Caleigh! I really like the interpretation of you family's history in your photography, I especially love the 1st photo because the combination of your facial expression with the calligraphy layer really portrays a feeling of nostalgia. Good work, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteNice work Caleigh! I like how you portrayed your family's history by showing it in the background. All of your photos are very unique and different. My favorite is the fifth photo because you are looking to the side as if you are thinking back to your family's history. Overall great job!
