In this project, we had to capture pictures using the rule of thirds. Within the frame, the object that I had to focus on needed to take up a third of the frame. When one looks at the picture, they had to be focussing on the object itself. My goal was to bring out the object's color so the viewer would see more of the object than the background.
Caleigh,
ReplyDeleteI like your photos but not all of them show the rule of thirds. Your 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 8th are very nice representations. With your 2nd and 7th photo they appear more at the half mark. Maybe if you cropped them or shot them in a way to create more of a 1/3 image. Your 6th photo, I wasn't sure if your subject was the coffee cup or if the indent in the wall was what you wanted to make your 1/3. Your 5th photo I wasn't entirely sure what your 1/3 line was. Overall I think your photos are good and I like the use of colour for some of them.
All of your photos are really cool and interesting to look at. I agree with Kaity that some of them are divided into halves rather than thirds, but the images that are in thirds are really good examples of the rule. Some of the divisions are unclear because of the black and white, but if you look closely they are still divided into thirds. I really like the variation.
ReplyDeleteThis is a unique set of photos. I like how most of your photos are in black and white, which make them artsy and mysterious, and that a few photos are in color. My favorite is your second photo of the shell. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI think you did really well. It's definitely the rule of thirds and all of your subjects are really interesting and you photographed them really well. I like your third photo the best. It looked very artsy and I liked your use of black and white.
ReplyDeleteI really loved the beauty of your photos! They are definitely very nicely captured. I also agree with Kaity and Cara, there are several images where the photo looks to be divided into halves or fourths rather than thirds. Some of the photos of the plants seem to kind of blend, making it a little difficult to identify the subject. The photos look really great though, I really like them!
ReplyDeleteCaleigh,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos. The subject of the photos that you took really pop from the background and i could immediately see what the main subject of your images were. However, I think the picture of the shell in the sand by the water should be in color. i think the color could help with dividing the picture into thirds and separate them even more. Nice Work!
You have captured fantastic photos. They are my favorite in the class! All of them are really well done and each one gives out a different theme within the rule of thirds. Awesome Job!
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! My favorite is definitely the one with the seashell, it shows the stormy-looking sky yet mysterious shell which gives the photo a cool artsy look. Amazing work, keep it up!
